Multi-level marketing or Network marketing is very different from traditional sales in that with most MLM programs your customers also become your future business partners.
This rule is even more common in the numerous MLM programs that exist on the internet. Take for example Global Domains International. This programs offers domain name, hosting and a business opportunity. While it is possible to make money from the website itself, most people make money by creating a network of customers. Each person who joins the company through you their sponsor represents recurring income in your pocket. But they are much more than a customer, they are also your new business partner.
One of the great things about MLM is that you can quickly expand your down line once it gets passed the first level, but only if you have the ability to teach your down line how to repeat your own success. Whereas personal desire, time investment, advertising budget and more can determine the success of each individual their are things that a sponsor can do to help. Whilst many of these things, like self motivation, may be out of your control, you shouldn't just 'take the money and run'. The one thing you can control with your down line is helping with their education and provision or online resources. In fact as their sponsor you have an ethical responsibilities to do whatever is in your power to make sure they are successful. Of course there is an added reward in this for successful 'managers/sponsors' in that their own efforts will be hugely multiplied and added income will flow into their pocket if their down line can repeat their success.
Many people particularly in American do this by using the phone which can be a very successful method of helping and encouraging your down line. Unfortunately this option is not available to everyone. Phone calls can be much more expensive in other parts of the world and if you are going to take advantage of the multi-national and multi-lingual bonuses of the internet then phone calls aren't always the answers.
Perhaps the easiest way to do this is create an ebook or blog with advice, suggestions and a business plan. This way you don't have burn more time or effort than necessary yet you still provide an effective learning tool for your down line and the advice necessary for them to repeat your success. If you include an altavista babel fish or like translation ability with the material you can overcome language barriers and have business partners in China, Argentina, India, France or even Tahiti.
